POWAPLAST glass-filled nylon solar mounting PV array installation

WE ARE ALWAYS HERE TO ASSIST WITH ANY QUERIES REGARDING OUR PRODUCTS.

IF YOUR QUESTION ISN’T COVERED IN THE SECTION BELOW, PLEASE GET IN TOUCH.

What exactly is fibreglass-reinforced Nylon 6, which forms the base of the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system?

A comprehensive brochure on the properties, uses and benefits of fibreglass-reinforced Nylon 6 can be viewed and downloaded here.

The specific Nylon polymer used in the POWAPLAST™ system is a grade of the world-renowned BASF Ultramid® engineering thermoplastic range, on which international case studies for solar mounting can be found here.

Why choose the POWAPLAST™ fibreglass-reinforced Nylon solar mounting system over more traditional metal-based systems for your solar panel installation?

Key benefits of the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system when compared to metal alloy counterparts include unmatched corrosion resistance, increased lifespan, reduced weight, high vibration dampening, extreme strength and lower environmental impact. It’s also worth noting that our IBR, corrugated and Klip-Lok roof brackets – being manufactured from a high strength non-metallic polymer – will not cause any galvanic corrosion reaction over time when fixed in direct contact to any type of metal roof sheeting. This eliminates the need for EPDM rubber inserts commonly used with metal alloy brackets, which can be cumbersome to use and reduces the clamping force of the fasteners on these components. With our POWAPLAST™ brackets you can rest assured that the structural and aesthetic integrity of the roof sheeting will stay intact and the mounting structure itself will provide peak performance over an increased service period.

Does the  POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system consist solely of fibreglass-reinforced Nylon 6, or does it utilize metal components as well?

Fibreglass-reinforced Nylon 6 is the major material component within the  POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system, with Class 4 coated, stainless steel 304 and bi-metal carbon steel fasteners along with aluminium alloy 6063 T6 being used at critical structural fixing points.

Is the  POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system only suited for high-corrosion areas?

While the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system is ideally suited for high-corrosion environments like temperate marine, subtropical marine, desert marine and industrial regions, it’s reduced weight, ease of workability and reduced installation time makes it equally suitable for less corrosion-prone areas.

Is the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system a local or imported product?

The POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system is a proudly South African innovation, designed and manufactured on home soil with the broad scope of local environmental conditions in mind. This eliminates over-enigineering evident in imported solar mounting systems, which is predominantly occupied with foreign environmental factors like heavy snow loads and seismic activity. All in all, the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting range therefore ensures a cost-effective, durable solar mounting system for the local market with assured stock availability.

Has the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system been tested and deemed fit for purpose by an accredited testing facility?

Yes. The specific fibreglass-reinforced Nylon 6 material used in the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system has been examined by a SANAS accredited laboratory and has been found to be suitable for its proposed purpose.

Do you offer installation manuals for the different products within the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system?

We do. Installation manuals for all POWAPLAST™ components are included in an on-boarding package sent to the client following purchase.

Are you able to deliver references from large-scale projects that utilized the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system upon request?

No problem. We can provide site references from clients on projects up to 1.28 megawatt in scale that used the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system for their PV module installation.

Does the POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system come with a warranty?

Indeed. The POWAPLAST™ solar mounting system offers a 12-year replacement warranty on all components within the mounting system. This is subject to our terms and conditions.
